Ian is a Freedom Fields baby as of some 40 odd years ago and was schooled at Salisbury Road and then Devonport High School for Boys, before failing miserably at Plymouth University. After an incredible 9-year military career starting with a blue beret and finishing with a coveted green one, Ian fell into the locksmith world by chance on leaving the military. A spell as a Quantity Surveyor along with a part-time coaching role at Plymouth Argyle youth allowed time to grow the locksmith business before going full time in 2009.

During recent years, in-between charity campaigns and physio appointments, Ian has settled and now boasts two miniature cheap labour versions of himself...and as you can probably gather, fails to take life too seriously.

To put your mind at rest, Ian Pearson Vehicle Locksmith is a full member of the Auto Locksmith Association along with being the local area AA approved sub-contractor. IPVL service many of the local main dealers along with the independent garages. We have worked in the past with the DVLA when they've recovered vehicles with no keys, and the Police, who have used IPVL to open vehicles without physically touching them...sounds like magic right???

Being full time on cars only, the company has invested huge sums in the latest diagnostic and dealer level programming equipment. It's fair to say there is nobody better locally to assist with your car key or immobiliser issue. We cover most vehicle types, new and old, and carry a huge range of OEM remotes, keys, and transponders. To add, Ian is old school, if there's a problem with your car which we have caused, and this happens about once every 12-18 months we will put it right. Diagnostic programming always carries a risk, and while we do everything we can to minimise this,  to date we have broken and paid to fix a Mk V Golf, an Audi A4, a Discovery IV, and most recently a Mini. Rest assured we never go to work with plans for things to go wrong, but occasionally they do. To add, in between these cars, we estimate that we have worked on over 8,000 vehicles in this time!!

Don't forget, when you ring IPVL, IPVL turns up! We are not a national company, we are not a call centre, just your local independent car key specialist.

Outside of normal working hours, IPVL is proud to sponsor local sporting events and has also sponsored local boxers and local youth football players.  Ian is about to embark on a new project to bring local businesses and the community together. Keep an eye out for more information as this project could be huge!
